Bio

At the age of 12, in a small upstate town in New York, C.J. Xielle discovered a worn paperback book in the back of the library of the group home he was a resident of. This book, titled Over Sea, Under Stone by Susan Cooper, did two things: helped to remove C.J. from the bleak reality of his current circumstances by transporting him to a fantastical new world, and served as the spark that ignited a fiery, passionate obsession for the fantasy genre and everything it represented.

This obsession would lead to C.J. devouring every piece of fantasy, sci-fi, and eventually, urban fantasy (special thank you to Brent Weeks and The Night Angel Trilogy) that he could get his hands on. And by 15 years old, C.J. Xielle was sure of another thing: he had a story to tell, and wanted to add his own voice to the beautiful and infinite world of fantasy books, in hopes that he too would one day help another desperate soul in need of an escape from their own reality for a spell.

Now, C.J. is 30, and is finally bringing his dream to life. He is currently working on his debut novel, The Gray Prince (the first in a series to be called The Brilliance & Shade Chronicles). When he isn't busy writing, he enjoys spending time with his family in Central NY, reading books and comics, watching a plethora of anime, enjoying single player video games with super powers/magic/special abilities, playing almost any sport, and pulling epic pranks.
